Reports To: Supply Management Captain
Department: EMS Operations Division (with cross-divisional support)
Position Type: Hourly, Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

The Logistics Officer plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient supply chain and equipment operations within the EMS Operations Division and across other divisions as needed. Working under the direction of the EMS Operations Director, this position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day logistics, supply ordering, inventory management systems, and coordination of equipment maintenance and issue resolution. The Logistics Officer will also serve as a key point of communication with leadership, providing reports and analysis of spending as it relates to operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain & Ordering
    • Manage the ordering, tracking, and restocking of medical and operational supplies.
    • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
    • Maintain relationships with suppliers to optimize pricing and service.
  • Inventory Management
    • Oversee daily operations of the inventory system, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
    • Track stock levels and implement proactive measures to avoid shortages or overstocking.
    • Support cross-divisional inventory needs (e.g., operations, communications, education, MIH).
  • Equipment Maintenance & Issue Resolution
    • Monitor and coordinate repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance of equipment.
    • Document and follow up on equipment issues until resolution.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Logistics Oversight
    • Support interdepartmental logistics requests and ensure cross-divisional alignment.
    • Assist in planning and execution of logistics for events, training, and special projects.
  • Crew Experience & Efficiency
    • Actively seek out opportunities to improve the crew experience by ensuring supplies, equipment, and logistics support the needs of field providers.
    • The long-term vision is to eliminate unnecessary outside work so crews can focus on excellent patient care in an employee-first working environment.
    • Contribute to forward-thinking initiatives such as:
      • Implementing an RFID system for streamlined unit check-offs.
      • Making crew changes simple and efficient.
      • Providing top-tier equipment to all staff.
      • Ensuring EMS units are consistently clean, organized, and uniform.
    • Provide regular feedback on improvements that enhance both employee satisfaction and system performance.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare quarterly supply chain and cost analysis reports for executive leadership.
    • Provide feedback and recommendations for improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in supply chain, inventory management, or logistics (EMS/healthcare setting preferred).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple divisions and levels of leadership.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: 25-28/hr DOE
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
