Lieutenant of Education

Fairfield County EMS is seeking a highly motivated educator to provide oversight to our providers. Fairfield County is located in the Midlands approximately 40 minutes north of Columbia. Fairfield County is a rural service that serves a population of approximately 22,000 with an annual call volume between 4900-5100. Our Medical Director is actively involved in education along with QA/QI. Our equipment includes: LP35, LUCAS 3, Saphire IV Pumps, Parapac Ventilators, battery operated Hurst Tools, and many others. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

Has responsibility for the EMS training program by planning and conducting orientation and training programs for the EMS employees.

Provides oversite to the QA/QI Team. Duties include designing training for staff, implements training guides on new equipment and training new employees.

Organizes and writes EMS training manuals and guides for use by EMS personnel.

Plans, coordinates and conducts training for EMS employees, EMR for fire department and rescue squads. Schedules classes and teaches routine EMS procedures to personnel.

Collaborates with instructors from other agencies to provide training.

Accurately documents all training activities and prepares related reports. Maintains records for DPH approved Continuing Education Program.
